Teams

Our program is a student-run organization: made for students, by students! We work with our cadets to provide opportunities to develop their future plans and leadership skills, making sure our cadets are college & career ready. Cadets have the opportunity to be a part of award winning teams and even win all paid trips to compete at the national level!

Academics

The Academics Team is a close-knit group that trains to answer Jeopardy-style questions from a variety of different categories. Competing against other schools in the district in monthly local matches.

Archery

Engaging in friendly competition with other cadets from the SDUSD JROTC Program. Cadets will learn self-control, discipline, and patience, which can also contribute to overall academic and social success.

Armed Fancy Drill (Exhibition)

Armed Exhibition Drill team is a more complex version of basic drill. It is a type of drill that comprises of sharp precise movements but also dynamic marching and highly advanced rifle spins. 

Armed Regulation (Basics)

Armed Basic Drill team is composed of 9-12 cadets knowledgeable of armed drill. The team trains to deliver an accurate, sharp and uniform routine. Each cadet focuses on discipline, precision and team work to cohesively execute the drill card. 

Color Guard

Color Guard is a 4-man team which includes a left rifleman, right rifleman, California flag and United States flag. They present the colors for ceremonial purposes, such as football games, pep rallies, graduations, and more.

CyberPatriots

CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition. Teams are given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities and hardening the system while maintaining critical services in a six hour period. 

Drones

Learn the basics of aviation and team work through our drone teams. Cadets are taught how to control and fly drones through various obstacles competing against other school in regional drone competitions.

Orienteering

Orienteering is a physical and mental sport, challenging any person to use their map skills and personal strength to navigate through a course. Skills include map and compass reading, endurance, and safety. 

Robotics

Robotics is at the intersection of science, engineering and technology. Learn to produces machines, called robots, that replicate or substitute for human actions. Building community and knowledge.

Raiders

The Raiders Team allows cadets surpass their physical limits through teamwork, motivation, and dedication. Competing against other schools in events like 1 Mile Run, Tire Flips, Knots Tying, and more.

Saber Fancy and Regulation (Honor Guard)

Saber Team is comprised of a unit’s finest drillers, wielding not rifles but swords. It features complex formations and rhythmic movements being seen at many school events and competitions. 

Unarmed Fancy Drill (Exhibition)

Unarmed Fancy Drill is a drill team that showcases cadets using their hands and feet to produce rhythmic beats. Body movements are synchronized and executed with accuracy to create captivating performances and beats.

Unarmed Regulation Drill (Basics)

Unarmed Basic Drill Team consist of 9-12 cadets moving in sharp, well-executed movements in sync with each other. The teams trains and focuses on basic facing, marching and in-place movements, to develop a harmonic and synchronized routine.

Youth Physical Fitness (YPF)

Youth Physical Fitness (YPF) challenges an individual’s physical prowess and ability to work in a team. A male and female team will compete in events such as the 20 meter crab walk, basketball throw, power throw, and a 400 meter relay race.
